Good food fuels a rich life. At Vital Cuisine, our love affair with life is expressed with the most vibrant foods we can find. To experience a rich life, you need good fuel. What goes into your body determines what you can put out. And, what’s good for you is good for the planet. We believe in organic, local and sustainable agricultural. We walk our talk by buying organic, shopping locally and by contributing time to charitable organizations that make real food a priority. Because it all matters. About Personal Chef Laurel Drachenberg Personal Chef Laurel Drachenberg’s passion for nutritious foods began at a very young age cooking with her family in New York and Connecticut. The kitchen was clearly the heart of the home, and Laurel learned early that eating fresh, whole food makes for a vital, energetic life. After mastering the Easy Bake Oven as a child, Laurel’s kitchen adventures gained new speed after Laurel became vegetarian and then vegan in the 1980’s, a time when culinary options were fairly limited in natural food stores and restaurants. Laurel’s passion for cooking was highlighted in a 1988 Ladies’ Home Journal article “A Day in the Life of the American Cook.” After a successful career in environmental education and an amateur athlete competing internationally on the U.S. Shotokan Karate Team, she returned to the culinary world. Laurel graduated from The Culinary Business Academy’s personal chef course at Cook Street School of Fine Cooking in 2005 after which Vital Cuisine was born to provide customized healthy and nutritious in-home meals. Laurel was a premier member of the United States Personal Chef Association (2005-2009), and President of the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the USPCA (2007-2009) which was awarded Chapter of the Year in 2009. Laurel has downsized her business with the arrival of her daughter Grace Katherine in July 2009. She is currently a Natural Foods Chef Instructor at The Nutrition Therapy Institute, and a member of Slow Food Denver. "Since 2005 Vital Cuisine has fed my passion for creative cooking and helping people truly savor eating their ideal diet. Seasonal, organic fresh ingredients make my clients want to rush home to eat rather than pick up the same old take-out. Food can support and enhance your life with the energy and vitality you need to achieve your dreams!" — Laurel Drachenberg, Owner What people are saying about Vital Cuisine “Vital Cuisine offers an abundant variety of healthy choices for people who want to eat healthy, but don’t have the time to prepare meals. Laurel is creative, flexible and works very hard to ‘customize’ meals to suit any dietary needs!” Jeanie York “The convenience of Laurel’s amazing cooking is priceless. I can eat healthy without having to take time from my busy schedule. And it helps me stay lean while feeding my love for good food. Thanks Laurel, you’re the best!.” Kathryn O’Connell, MA, CPT “Laurel’s meals are simple to heat up, creative and delicious. It is so nice to come home and with little effort have a gourmet, nutritious meal. Laurel really takes the time to find out your needs and customizes your meals based on your individual taste and requests. You would think that my request of no sugar, wheat, dairy, or land meat would really limit her dishes. Yet she comes up with the most delicious and creative meals! It just doesn’t get any better.” Michele Dine “Laurel’s service is professional and completely flexible. She adapts to the clients needs making her service fit many occasions and meet a variety of needs. I love the preplanning when you can choose what meals you like for each service from a list of several choices. It allows for lots of variety but you don’t have to think too hard about what you want. I also like her willingness to adapt her plan so that you can cater to certain situations. I gifted her service to a colleague at work and she let me pick the number of meals that would work best with my budget.” Amber Minogue “When I picked from the menu you offerred, I was excited, but
I could never have expected it to be this good! How do you do it? Even
my frozen service tasted so fresh and healthy. It's more than
just good cooking.... it's like a special gift. You should really be
famous.” “Thanks for the beautiful flowers and food. The portions
are perfect, the possibilities seem endless and we loved the curry chicken
and the tacos. Thumbs up from all! After tasting the Shrimp Diablo,
Jim said, “Wow, this girl can cook!” I will be giving your
card to two friends who have expressed interest also.” “Wow! Thank you for a wonderful housewarming party. We
received many complements on the idea, the food, and the company. We
liked it so much we may make it an annual event!” “Thank you for the meals you prepared for us. We have really
enjoyed the Thai Green Curry with Chicken and Green Peppers with Coconut
Jasmine Rice and the Shrimp Fra Diavolo. It has been fun to pull
them out of the freezer or refrigerator and have something so tasty.” |
